Loyalty points redemption with manual discounts
What’s New?
When redeeming points, Loyalty points will be deducted from the customer's wallet and a manual discount code will be applied via Loop. If the customer removes the discount code, the loyalty points will be re-added to the wallet.
Pain point in old behaviour:
How it helps:
When redeeming points from the customer portal, the discount code was generated through loyalty apps, allowing the customer to apply it to the subscription contract as a discount coupon. However, this led to several issues as the discount codes generated by loyalty apps were Shopify discount codes with a condition limiting their use to once per customer.
This created problems in case the subscriber removed the discount code before the order was processed, and post that, the discount code became ineligible. This negatively impacted the customer experience for the brand as customers used to reach out to brand to re-add the loyalty points.
New behaviour:
- When redeeming points, Loyalty points will be deducted from the customer's wallet, and a manual discount code will be applied via Loop. If the customer removes the discount code, the loyalty points will be re-added to the wallet, significantly improving the merchant experience.
- Merchants also have the option to add a discount title that will be visible to customers. This title can be configured by going to Loop > Integrations > 'specific Loyalty app' > Setup Instructions > Configurations.
- By default, for existing merchants, the title is set to
LOYALTY_DISCOUNT. - For new merchants enabling loyalty app integration, they will have to add the discount code title to enable the integration.
- This particular improvement will allow us to deeply integrate loyalty apps into our platform, such as the upsell section, campaign actions, flows, cancellation offers, etc.
Please note: This feature is available for the following integrations: Yotpo, Influence, Rivo, Okendo, RiseAi, and Bubblehouse.
